Q2 and Q3 2011
ASD is very proud to have been awarded new federal contract vehicles and projects. We have a new exciting GSA Small Business Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) and two VA IDIQs:

• 8(a) STARS II The 8(a) STARS II GWAC is designed to promote small business utilization when purchasing information technology (IT) services or IT services-based solutions for the federal government. The 8(a) STARS II program is reserved exclusively for qualifying certified 8(a) small business concerns as the prime contractors per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 19.8. Features of this contract include: Multiple award, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle, a five-year base with one five-year option, a $10 billion program ceiling, and a Directed Order Authority where Directed task orders up to $4 million each are allowed for federal civilian and Department of Defense activities.

• Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology (T4) The T4 program, one of the largest existing campaigns being undertaken by the Federal government, will manage information technology (IT) contracts within the Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefits Administration and National Cemetery Administration through a single indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract. T4 encompasses a broad range of IT and telecommunications services, including program management and strategy planning; systems and software engineering; enterprise network, test and evaluation; independent verification and validation; cyber-security; operations and maintenance; and training and IT facility support. ASD is a subcontractor to HP and SMS.

• Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Relationship Management
Veterans Relationship Management (VRM)
A Veteran-centric solution delivering forward-looking results Veterans Relationship Management (VRM) Information Technology Solutions and Support Services (ITSS) is a performance-based, five year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, with a ceiling of $480 million, that will help the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) develop and deliver on-demand access to comprehensive services and benefits in a consistent, Veteran-centric environment.

ASD is delighted to have been awarded several new projects this quarter:

• Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) -- VETSNET project – Working as a subcontractor to SMS under T4 contract, ASD is supporting this multi-year effort to overhaul the VA claims processing applications.

• Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) -- EMTS/VistA project – Working as a subcontractor to HP under the VRM (Veterans Relationship Management) contract, ASD is supporting the enhancement of the VA’s Enrollment and Eligibility Program.

• State of Alabama - Temporary IT Personnel Services ITB -- ASD was awarded this contract in all eight operational functional areas including Systems Support, IT Operations, IT Telephony, Applications Development, Web Development, GIS Development, Project Management and It Business Analysis.

• Florida Department of Financial Services – ASD performed Business Process Mapping Consulting Services to assist the Medicaid and Public Assistance Fraud Strike Force. The services performed required business process mapping across five different state agencies reflecting the benefits application and approval process; the systems for delivering services/benefits; and the processes and systems in place to detect, prevent and prosecute perpetrators of fraud, as well as business process mapping of a sample of case studies involving Medicaid and Public Assistance Fraud that can be overlain on the agency level process maps to illustrate how the fraudulent behavior is evading detection.

ASD has also been very active this year participating in various IT conferences, seminars and job expositions:

• 2011 Public Health Informatics Conference – ASD representatives attended this conference in August, hosted in Atlanta at the CDC to foster awareness of Florida’s Electronic Health Record initiatives and programs, specifically highlighting the PRISM application and it’s collaborative approach to IT solutions.

• FSU College of Communication and Information Career Day – ASD had a unique opportunity to meet undergraduate and graduate students from the three schools within the School of Communication, the School of Communication Sciences & Disorders, and the School of Library & Information Studies to discuss the IT job market.

• North Florida Counterintelligence Domain Working Group – on July 28, 2011, the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) co-hosted this meeting. The agenda addressed national security threats regularly encountered by United States businesses and academic institutions, with an emphasis on the insider threat and on computer/cyber security awareness.

• Recruit Military Opportunity Expos – As a Service Disabled Veteran owned business, ASD understands the challenges today’s veterans are facing today. Providing unique and challenging opportunities in the IT industry for our nation’s veterans is a top priority for us. ASD is doing its’ part to provide rewarding careers for our service people. We are proud to be a part of these Job Expositions, having attended events in Tampa and Atlanta this year.

Q1 2011
DOT DBE - ASD is pleased to announce that we have been certified under the Unified Certification Program (UCP) as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) in accordance with 49 code of Federal Regulation part 26. This allows ASD to compete and perform contract work for USDOT, State DOT and Local transport agencies.

ASD was selected by the City of Miami in a competitive bid to perform financial, management, and engineering consulting services for the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) Office.

ASD was awarded a US Navy contract for over $2.9 million. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems based in San Diego, California, selected ASD to provide hardware and software maintenance for
the next three years.

ASD was awarded an IT security service contract worth over $500,000. The Alabama Department of Finance, Information Services Division, selected ASD in a competitive bid to supply the State with specialized security for statewide systems.

From February 20-24, ASD employees attended the annual HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) conference for the third year in a row and brought back important insights into emerging public health initiatives. HIMSS is a cause-based organization promoting the optimal use of information technology (IT) and management systems for the betterment of healthcare.
